Busy summer!!

Seems like an age since I last posted and must make a mental note to post more often!!

These last few weeks have gone by so quickly, with burning my face, my brother’s wedding and carrying on with my day job of childminding whilst also running Teeny Munchkins.

Last week saw my first sales appear on the site, 4 in all and I can’t tell you how happy that made me.  It feels like all that time and hardwork that i have recently put in is starting to bear fruit and can now show my other half that it has all be worth it.  Customer comments can now be seen on the site.

We’re not going to be millionaires overnight but this is a good start.

We have just set up a new affiliate scheme which has a commission rate of 5% for any sales clicked through from an affiliate’s link.  During September we are extending the commission rate to 10%.

Lots more stock has also been added and hope to add even more over the coming days, especially as the schools start back next week and will have less time on my hands to add things (unless I don’t want to sleep at all)

The saga of the burn ….

….  well after yesterday’s fiasco with the burn, I woke up in a puddle of vaseline (bit slimy and not very nice) and an added 2 blisters to go with the one I burst yesterday.

Didn’t feel quite so sore today but face is still slightly red and now have brown marks where the fat splashed at me.  I feel like a bit of a freak show really despite reassurances from my other half that it will all settle down and fade … by Saturday??  I think not.

Not quite sure how I am going to look for my bro’s wedding pics, maybe just show my right side profile (or stand at the back where no one can see me)

Went back to the gp today who was relieved to say that I wouldn’t need a skin graft (that thought never even occured to me) and that the blisters I had were neat (thanks, I think)!!  Have to keep applying the vaseline and return on Friday to make sure there is no infection setting in.

Good news today though, Manhattan Toys have debited my account so my account must have been approved and my order is on its way.  Click here to see some of the range I am selling from them.

Time to go set up a Facebook page now.

Burns

I did a really stupid thing this afternoon!!

I was cooking a roast dinner for all the family plus my minded children and as I took the potatoes out of the oven, fat poppped up at me and caught me on the face.  There was no pain to start with but boy did it soon kick in.  It was agony!!  Did the right thing of pouring cold water on it and part of it must have blistered straight away as some of the skin come away (just a small patch but that was enough)

Got my other half to come down and watch the children (thankfully the rain we had today made him finish work early) so he had to sort their dinner out while I went to the doctor with a cold flannel held to my face – I must have looked a right sight!!

The nurses their gave me a nice cold compress, which was absolute bliss as took most of the pain away and sat me in a room for a while so they could see to their other patients.  One of the gp’s phoned his wife who is apparently an A&E doctor for advice rather than sending me straight there and apparently she said to rub a ton of vaseline (?) on it and take ibuprofen for a couple of days to reduce the swelling.  I had always been taught not to put any creams on burns so will wait to see what happens.  Have to go back to the gp tomorrow to see how it looks.

The horrible thing is, I have my brother’s wedding on Saturday and am probably going to look a right state!!  Here’s hoping a good night’s sleep will have me feeling much better.

Welcome to Teeny Munchkins

Teeny Munchkins was launched today and is aimed at like-minded parents wanting to find the best products for their children

We have a range of baby slings, baby sleeping bags, creative activities and toys.  We also run an online competition and this month you can enter with a chance to win one of our baby sleeping bags.

I was first inspired to set up Teeny Munchkins after being part of a party plan company for little under a year.  Although my reasons for leaving that company were on health grounds, I soon realised that I could do this by myself and run my own business.  Although we are not going down the party plan route at the moment, we will be attending school and village fetes.  The first of which we have in September.

That’s enough from me for now and will update constantly on our progress.
